Apple rolled out macOS Sequoia 15.4.1, a crucial update focusing on security patches and system stability improvements. This release addresses two significant vulnerabilities that were reportedly exploited in targeted attacks.
🔐 Security Fixes
The update resolves the following security issues:
- CoreAudio Vulnerability (CVE-2025-31200): A memory corruption issue in CoreAudio could allow arbitrary code execution when processing a maliciously crafted media file. This flaw has been addressed with improved bounds checking.
- RPAC Vulnerability (CVE-2025-31201): An attacker with arbitrary read and write capabilities might bypass Pointer Authentication. Apple has mitigated this by removing the vulnerable code.
Apple recommends all users install this update promptly to protect against these security threats.
🛠️ Stability Improvements
In addition to security enhancements, macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 improves the reliability of the update installation process, addressing issues that previously hindered some users from updating to version 15.4.
