Dopamine 2.5 Beta 2 Released with Experimental DarkSword Fixes

Dopamine 2.5 Beta 2 is out with experimental fixes and improvements to DarkSword, contributed by @TheRealClarity. Here's what changed and whether you should update.

opa334 has released Dopamine 2.5 Beta 2, dropping just hours after the day began on March 28, 2026. The update is focused entirely on DarkSword — the exploit at the heart of the 2.5 series — with experimental fixes and improvements contributed by community developer @TheRealClarity.

What’s New in Beta 2

The release notes from opa334 are brief and to the point:

  • Experimental fixes and improvements to DarkSword — contributed by @TheRealClarity

For everything else — supported devices, iOS versions, and the full context of what Dopamine 2.5 introduced — opa334 points back to the Beta 1 release notes. That update was significant: it was the first time the DarkSword exploit was integrated into Dopamine, extending jailbreak support to iOS 16.7.15 on A12–A15 devices.

Should You Install Beta 2?

As with any beta release, exercise caution. The “experimental” label on the DarkSword fixes means these changes are still being validated. If you’re already running Dopamine 2.5 Beta 1 successfully, you may want to wait for community feedback before updating. If you’ve been holding off due to stability concerns with Beta 1, Beta 2’s targeted fixes may be worth testing.

As always, only jailbreak a device you’re comfortable using as a test device, and make sure you’re on a supported iOS version before proceeding. Check ios.cfw.guide for the full compatibility breakdown.
