EverPwnage v2.0 Makes iOS 9.3.5 and 9.3.6 Untethered for the First Time

EverPwnage v2.0 adds iocaste by staturnz, bringing an untethered jailbreak to iOS 9.3.5 and 9.3.6 — no computer needed after the initial setup.

EverPwnage, the all-in-one jailbreak tool for older Apple devices, has jumped to v2.0 with a significant upgrade: iOS 9.3.5 and 9.3.6 are now untethered, thanks to the addition of iocaste by staturnz.

What’s New in v2.0

The headline change is iocaste — a new untether payload for iOS 9.3.5 and 9.3.6. Previously, jailbreaking these firmware versions required a tethered approach, meaning the jailbreak had to be re-applied from a computer every time the device rebooted. With iocaste integrated, the jailbreak now survives reboots on its own. No computer needed after the initial setup.

iOS 9.3.5 and 9.3.6 are the final firmware versions for a range of older 32-bit devices — including the iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad mini (1st gen), and iPod touch (5th gen) — that can never be updated further. For owners keeping these devices alive, an untethered jailbreak is meaningfully more practical than a tethered one.

What Is EverPwnage?

EverPwnage is a community jailbreak tool maintained by LukeZGD that consolidates support for a wide range of older iOS versions into a single utility. Rather than tracking down individual tools for specific firmware versions, EverPwnage handles device detection and applies the appropriate exploit automatically. It’s particularly useful for legacy devices spanning iOS 6 through 10.

Two Jailbreak Stories in One Day

Today also saw the release of Dopamine 2.5 Beta 1, which brought DarkSword exploit support to iOS 16.7.x on modern 64-bit devices. EverPwnage v2.0 sits at the other end of the spectrum — old hardware, old firmware, but a community that still cares about keeping it useful. Good day for jailbreakers.

Where to Get It
