Apple Seeds iOS 26.5, macOS Tahoe 26.5, and More Developer Beta 3

Apple has seeded the third developer beta of iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, macOS Tahoe 26.5, watchOS 26.5, tvOS 26.5, visionOS 26.5, and HomePod Software 26.5 to registered developers. The release lands approximately one week after beta 2 dropped on April 13, keeping pace with the usual weekly cadence as the software moves toward a public release.

Apple has confirmed the following build numbers for developer beta 3:

  • iOS 26.5 beta 3 (23F5059e)
  • iPadOS 26.5 beta 3 (23F5059e)
  • macOS Tahoe 26.5 beta 3 (25F5058e)
  • watchOS 26.5 beta 3 (23T5558e)
  • tvOS 26.5 beta 3 (23L5460d)
  • visionOS 26.5 beta 3 (23O5458e)

What’s in iOS 26.5

iOS 26.5 has been building toward a meaningful point release across three betas. Features tracked since beta 1 include RCS end-to-end encryption between iPhone and compatible Android devices, further refinement of the Liquid Glass UI introduced with iOS 26, and groundwork for Apple Maps Suggested Places, the ad placement system Apple announced would arrive this spring. Beta 3 is typically when Apple shifts focus from new additions to stabilization, so this seed likely brings bug fixes and performance improvements rather than new features.

macOS Tahoe 26.5 Beta 3

macOS Tahoe 26.5 beta 3 arrives alongside the iOS and iPadOS seeds. The desktop release has been tracking closely with its iOS counterpart throughout the 26.5 cycle, carrying the same RCS messaging improvements and Continuity enhancements.

watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and HomePod Software

Apple also seeded beta 3 of watchOS 26.5, tvOS 26.5, visionOS 26.5, and HomePod Software 26.5 on the same day. These releases typically travel in lockstep with the iOS beta cycle. Build numbers for all platforms will be updated here once Apple’s developer portal reflects the new seeds.

How to Install

Registered developers can install the betas through the Apple Developer portal at developer.apple.com/download. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, General, Software Update, and switch to the Developer Beta channel. On Mac, open System Settings, General, Software Update, and check for the update.

Public beta testers should expect a corresponding public beta to follow within a day or two via the Apple Beta Software Program.
